Organizing for Creatives in Gdansk

Organizing for Creatives is a workshop series developed by Anna Marjankowska. It introduces themes and methods from union organizing that have been specifically adapted to the needs and conditions of artists and creative workers.

In July, Anna was invited to give her workshop at the GRID Arthub in Gdansk, Poland. Some 22 participants took place ranging from Art curators, architects, fashion professionals to artists of all sorts.

The create workers took out time during these three days to reflect on their own conditions, mirroring themselves in others facing similar challenges. The workshop encouraged them reflect on their working conditions and and map their circumstances, such as different kinds of resources.

The workshop was held following a talk by Kuba Szreder, author of The ABC of the projectariat: Living and working in a precarious art world.
